USE YOUR YOUTHFUL ENERGY TO PREACH THE WORD AS A YAF MEMBER
The Chairperson for the Asante South Presbytery, Rev. S. T Odonkor has urged the Young Adults of the Church to use their youthful energies in the propagation of the Gospel of Christ. The Chairperson said this during a sermon at the Resurrection Congregation at Dunkwa-on-Offin during the launch of the YAF Guide Volume 8. Rev. Odonkor admonished members that at the YAF stage they had the right balance of life – comprising energy, experience, intellect and in most cases, stable marital life/employment and these were to be used as a foundation to help the YAF member to be a better ambassador of the gospel. The Chairperson admonished members that poverty, disasters, drugs and other crimes are claiming lives every day at an alarming rate and all these lives need to be saved here on earth and for eternity hence the need for intensive propagation of the Good news to help transform people. Rev. S. T. Odonkor added that:
- Preaching the Gospel or the Good news was a collective task of all Christians including YAF Members and not a task solely for the Ministers and leadership of the Fellowship
- Preaching the Good News is meant to project the Gospel and not to showcase ones personalities, possessions or abilities
- Members are to develop good relationships with others, use that avenue and their good attitudes/deeds to proclaim the Lord domestically and at the workplaces
Rev. S. T. Odonkor in conclusion remarked that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana was looking up to YAF to play an active role in realization of the Church’s Vision 1.5 and hence called on all members to actively build a better relationship with God, build their own devotional and Christian life so that they can become useful tools to preach the Good News.
Also present at the Service were the Asante South Presbytery Lay Rep., the Dunkwa District Minister, Rev. Peterking Owusu-Arthur and a host of other dignitaries
